KIM FOWLEY AT DON BOLLES B-DAY PARTY

On July, 29th, Don Bolles(ex-drummer of the Germs) had his B-day party at his club 'Ding-a-ling'. Ding-a-ling is a real dive bar. About the size of a Japanese businessmens hotel room, a dinky bar that serves only 2 kinds of bottled beer and a popcorn machine from the 60s that still pops corn that they give out for free on paper napkins, if you ask politely. There's a ton of underground people that look like they crawled into a cave back in 1977 and crawled out tonite for this event.



Fancy Space People performed, Prickle DJ'd, Howie Pyro was there and Kim Fowley did this impromptu performance, ad-libbing lyrics to songs that were made up on the spot. It was pretty impressive. I've always heard that he was outspoken and a loudmouth. He wasn't that loud, but he was pretty outspoken, engaging the audience with bizarre offbeat questions about their sexuality. Then in the middle of his spoken performance, he looked at me, pointed and then said, 'That guy has cool hair.'
